Feb. 15, 2023

This past weekend in Guelph, the U16A Timmins Tornadoes competed in their third tournament of the year.  In their first game the Tornadoes took on the Sault Ice Hawks.  It was a great game and the U16A team was able to secure the victory 4 to 2.  In their second game of the day, the Tornadoes played Barrie.  It was a tight game with it finishing in a tie 2 to 2.  Timmins played Oshawa on Saturday morning and their offence cam alive. Tornadoes secured the victory 5 to 0.  In their last game of the round robin Timmins took on the host team of Guelph.  This was a back-and-forth game, but Timmins was able to secure the victory 8 to 7.   With 3 wins and tie, the Tornadoes were able to secure a place in the finals against Barrie.  Timmins and Barrie were evenly match but Barrie was able to secure the victory and won the game 3 to 2.  Now the U16A Timmins Tornadoes will refocus and set their sights on the Provincial Championships in March.
