The cheers could be heard in 4 different arenas from March 30th to April 1st weekend when three novice U10 and one Petite U12 team represented the Timmins Ringette Association at the 2012 North East Regional Championships in Sault Ste-Marie. There were teams from all over the north-east region: Sudbury, Walden, Valley East, West Ferris, Sault Ste-Marie and Iroquois Falls that came together to enjoy the sport of Ringette with Fun, Fitness and Friendship as their motto. The Timmins Tornadoes stormed into the tournament and brought back 3 gold medals and one silver.

At the U10 Novice division B level, the Tornadoes White and Tornadoes Blue went head to head in the championship game, with White bringing home the gold and silver going to Blue in a 11-8 game.

At the U10 Novice division C level, the Tornadoes Red saw victory against V.E.R.A (Valley East) with a 9-8 win … GOLD !!

At the U12 Petite level …. GOLD !!! … Timmins Tornados brought home the Championship with a strong 6-5 victory over West Ferris.

Northeast Ringette School Coordinator

The TRA is looking for a person to fill the position of Northeast Ringette School Coordinator.

The Northeast Ringette School is scheduled to take place during the week of August 20-24, 2012 and we require a coordinator who will be responsible for delivering another successful event to participants.

This is a paid position.

Potential candidates are asked to present a proposal to the TRA no later than 4:00 PM on Saturday March 31, 2012. It is expected that the successful candidate will be responsible for the following components of the school:

Design of the on-ice program
Design of the off-ice program
Advertising and promotion of the event
Staffing
Registrations
Communications with the TRA
